selftalkI’ve had some trouble with my self talk lately and was amazed today when talking with a friend to discover how smart he thinks I am and how much he thinks I’ve got going on.  I was uplifted when I got off the call because lately, I haven’t been feeling quite like that.

So I decided to monitor my self talk more closely just to see and feel what I’m saying.  I’ve had a couple of unpleasant moments today catching myself not being so nice to me!

Self talk is the most important talk you will have.  What are you telling yourself?  Do you tell yourself you are smart, beautiful, capable and lovable? Even with all the noise around you, you are still talking to yourself.  Have you spoken more harshly to you than you would your best friend?  Think about the words you say and the emotions fueling the words.

You can change the way you talk to yourself and become the empowered person you know yourself to be.  You can walk into a room and be the light, the magnet, the joy that makes everyone glad to be there.  Or you can slink into a room hoping that no ones sees you and deny everyone the joy of being with you?

Begin right now using loving, caring words in your self talk.  Treat yourself with the highest regard and greatest respect.  Say words of joy, peace and forgiveness.  With practice, you can control your self talk to empower you to live boldly, freely and let your light shine.

How will you feel when you treat yourself the way you want others to treat you?
