The real reason certain boomer women seem to have it all is because they’ve learned the secret of living in the moment.  The biggest secret of living in the moment for me is to just BE.  To allow.   Yesterday I experienced being in the moment and fully enjoyed it.  I helped a friend prepare a sumptuous meal for twenty people.  Twelve of whom were young men average age of 18 with ravenous appetites!

Now I’m not usually known for my cooking however when my friend asked me “Inez can you help me out”, I said yes.  This turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made in regards to cooking.  I was delighted to help prep the food as well as pleased that she allowed me to actually do some of the most important cooking.

The most important cooking was frying the food in a huge pot outside over a gas flame.  You should have seen me!  I was quite the cook, battering the fish and placing it carefully into the hot oil, removing the crisp brown pieces and then doing the process over again.

Now I’ve found myself thinking of parallels in life to cooking the fish.  Boomer women have you ever felt battered and placed in hot oil.  Much of the feeling comes from expecting; wishing and hoping things would change.  The biggest disappointment is because you gave up your power.

As soon as that crisis was over and you thought you were on your way, something comes long and starts the process all over again.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if after taking the first battering, you cook to a crisp brown and serve yourself up on a beautiful platter never to be battered again?

Being in the moment allows you to fully enjoy life.  You, boomer women, have a choice to be as delectable as you desire, as resilient as you intend when you choose to keep your power by living in the moment.
